Who I am
A self taught Iranian artist based in London
She works spontaneously and rarely begins with a set plan in mind, letting each painting evolve intuitively as she builds each layer of paint and works quickly to begin with, which is why she prefers to work with faster drying acrylic paints. As the marks evolve into form she begins responding with colour and shape, layers and layers of colour and shape.
Zahra’s colour palette is governed by her mood and the general feeling she wants to create within each painting, and she generally works with analogous colour combinations. However, she is not afraid of colour.
Her paintings aim to represent and preserve beauty and the profound moments of our lives. Her artwork is inspired by individual creativity.
Paintings are both a direct reflection of her surroundings and an imaginary world – a secret in her mind. Multiplicity of colours, symbols of movement and dynamics, nature, and space have a special place in her works.
She creates a world that she wants to be in and that provides an escape from the everyday.
Solo Exhibitions
